Do Not Disturb

One of the things that excited me about iOS 6 was an automated “swich to silent” mode known as “Do Not Disturb”. This is a feature that was on my Sony Ericsson that dates back 9 years. That it took Apple another 8 to get it on their phones doesn’t please me entirely, but it is here now.

Apple, however, has a history of being unable to cope with the new year date change and 2013, of course, is no different.

If you use the scheduled DND mode, as of 1 January 2013, your DND mode will not disengage automatically. Apple also chose this inopportune time to flight an ad all about DND.

It seems that the problem will fix itself on 7 January.

Is that just Apple’s way of saying I should still be on holiday?
